TVET Competency Area

Production Coordination

Composite process operation coordination and production technical skill development

Overview

Production coordination is the Level 4 supervisory layer of composite manufacturing: planning production runs, sequencing processes, managing materials and people, and holding quality steady across a whole workshop rather than a single part.

This competency area prepares TVET graduates to move from operator to supervisor — the step where technical skill has to combine with planning, documentation and the ability to develop other technicians.

Scope of Training

Production Planning

Sequencing composite processes, scheduling cure cycles and allocating workshop capacity against delivery targets.

Material Management

Resin and prepreg shelf life, cold storage control, traceability and consumable planning.

Process Control

Monitoring parameters across lay-up, infusion, RTM and moulding; identifying drift before it becomes scrap.

Quality Coordination

In-process inspection points, non-conformance handling, corrective action and documentation.

Skill Development

Assessing technician competency, structuring on-the-job training and closing identified skill gaps.

Safety & Compliance

Chemical handling, workshop safety practice and compliance with quality management requirements.
